Artificial nests were created with the objective of contributing to the conservation of free-living parrots, compensating the lack of natural nests. With the reduction of natural areas, deforestation and felling of old trees, these species have started to face difficulties in finding suitable places for their reproduction.

From the continuous monitoring carried out by the conservation projects, artificial nests were developed to help in the maintenance and possible population increase of parrot species at risk of extinction. Currently, four species are relying on this technology.

The Adopt a Nest Campaign seeks to reinforce this action, expanding efforts and increasing the number of families of these birds in the wild.
